Hey anyone who would like to read and reply to this. I am a 17 year old girl from Melbourne. I suffer from Depression and have for 5 years now. Just thought this could be a great place to meet and talk to new people who have the same illness, someone who understands.

I am a court Appointed Special Advocate in South Dakota . I work with abused and neglected children. I recently was assigned to a case with a 6 year old boy who has been diagnosed with bipolar. I know nothing about this disorder. Is there a support group for this child somewhere? Or at least one that I can go to and bring the information back to him?What kind of medication is worthwhile for him? I see a light in this child and I don't want to let him down . He has been passed around and let down so much in his short time on this earth and I want to be that someone that he can count on. The thing is that I just don't know enough about this disorder.I hope someone out there can point me in the right direction. Thank you, Debra

I like the new site (Matt, well done!)and I hope people will use it for communication as well as more official purposes. I miss all of you and need to get back to coming to the group. As always, I continue to search for new drugs, new treatments for the treatment resistant person with ongoing depression of more and less severe degrees. I know I would appreciate any comments on any new treatments anyone knows about. For example, has anyone been involved in the vagal nerve stimulation whereby electrodes are implanted slightly under the skin?
